Massage for pregnancy
The experience of pregnancy and childbirth is one of the most exciting, rewarding
yet challenging times of women’s lives. Regular massage allows you to
get in touch with your body, enabling you to recognise tension, maintain general
wellbeing and help minimise the various discomforts associated with pregnancy,
including:
· Back pain
· Exhaustion
· Leg cramps
· Swelling of the hands and feet
Combining Aromatherapy with massage allows you to create an anxiety free
atmosphere during childbirth as many oils are:
· Uplifting
· Uterine tonics / relaxants
· Analgesic
Consulting a professional therapist will allow you to choose which oils are
the most suitable.
Massage and touch is the primary language for your baby. In utero, babies
can hear, smell, see and feel establishing bonds that will last forever.

Birth support massage
Learning Birth Support Massage provides you with an active supporting role
in the birthing process. It encourages you as a couple to spend quality time
together in the weeks leading up to the birth – providing reassurance,
love and togetherness-as many couples become more involved and take more control
in the birth of their baby.
The main benefits include:
· Pain relief and focus
· Working together and relaxing together to help with the contractions
through breathing
· Learning what works for you
Learning over 3 sessions provides you with the opportunity to learn thoroughly
and to address any issues you are not sure about so you are confident in your
role.
Infant
Massage
When your baby is born the bond between you can be enhanced through Infant
Massage. This can be done as soon as you feel ready and can include both parent/partners
and caregivers. Some of the benefits include:
· Relief of colic, gas and constipation
· Reduction of stress
· Better sleep routine
Massage helps babies and caregivers interact. It is something you do with
your baby not simply for. Massage also encourages trust, intimacy and respect.
The lessons of compassion, warmth and openness will be carried into adulthood.
Postpartum massage
Though it can be difficult, it is important that you continue to look after
yourself so that you are better able to handle the physical demands of your
new family.
Again massage and aromatherapy can help nurture and nourish you. Essential
oils will help to balance hormonal and emotional levels while massage will
reduce tension and speed healing.
Massage and Touch Therapy for everyone
Massage not only feels good but also is good for you. It works on our mental,
Physical and Spiritual Bodies. Some of the benefits include:
· Improved Immunity
· Increased Circulation
· Reduced Stress Levels
· Helps lower Depression and Anxiety
· Helps Lower Back Pain
· Rebalances the body
· Restores general wellbeing
Massage can help with the energy flow through the body and can even help
with emotional blockages being stored in our cellular level.
The Himalayan Singing Bowls
The
human body is a wonderful conductor for sound, after all we are 80% water!
and our nervous system is like a 3rd ear as we are made up of the vibrations
of the universe, on a cellular level everything in nature is vibration. In
my treatments after we have completed the external work, we work on the internal,
cellular level, toning the body into balance and harmony with the wonderful
sounds of the Himalayan singing bowls, bells and gongs. The sounds of these
ancient instruments are indescribable and powerful, stopping the internal
dialogue, when the mind is quiet the body follows, there is nothing spooky
and no need to be afraid, your body recognises the vibrations and reacts positively
to them. During the sound massage most people feel deep relaxation, bringing
silence into the chaos and some even fall asleep! Full treatments of sound
massage are also available.
